The call for a new beginning via YouTube diplomacy
Remember almost a year ago when President Obama gushed about a new era of co-operation with Iran? When he placed his video online for the world to see? A video crooning about “the common humanity” we had with the Iranian leaders and how we had “shared hopes” and “common dreams” of “peace between nations.” I labeled it YouTube Diplomacy then and said that it was destined to be a complete failure. Here it is a year later and what has become of Iran and those “shared hopes” President Obama so effusively described?
It seems the leadership of Iran either didn’t pay attention to the wonderful words of President Barack Obama or they just didn’t care. Almost a year after Obama’s attempt to shape the future by simply speaking it into existence, the failed foreign policies of this administration have helped to bring the Mid-East to the brink of war.
People like Ahmadinejad and the Ayatolla Khomeni don’t give a rat’s behind what Obama says, they will only sit up and pay attention to force. Unfortunately, Obama seems very reluctant to project the strength of our military into the Mid-East with the intent of forcing the leadership of Iran to back down and act civil. Simply put, the leadership of Iran saw the president for what he is, a weak, ineffectual leader who hesitates to make hard decisions and would rather talk than act because he wants the world to love him.
The dangerous situation in the Mid-East is as much a result of President Obama’s “YouTube Diplomacy” as anything.
Until Iranian leadership sees and understands that the consequences for their behavior will be overwhelming and inescapable, they will continue to act as they wish and all the talk of a “new era” of communication and peace will be a sad memory as war ignites.
Iran And YouTube Diplomacy One Year Later

Iran has not retracted it’s threat to wipe Israel off the map.
Iran is threatening the west with a blow that will stun us on Friday, February 11, 2009.
Iran is arresting, beating and executing demonstrators who only want freedom from the oppression of the Islamic regime.
Iran is building missiles capable of reaching Israel and Europe.
Iran is putting Uranium enrichment on the fast track in an attempt to develop a nuclear weapon.
Iran is conniving with N. Korea to develop better missile technology.
Iran is exporting terrorism around the world.
