Tea Party Movement Will Continue To Grow

The bias of the national “news” outlets is exposed in it’s recent attempt to downplay and/or ignore the Tea Party rally in D.C. last weekend.  Who cares?

Not able to make it to Washington D.C. on September 12, 2009, for the Tea Party march, I watched from home via C-span, Fox News livefeed, D.C. traffic cams and of course

Enough is enough!

Enough is enough!

via friends on Twitter and Facebook who were able to attend this historic event.  Their Twitter posts were the first indication of the size and scope of the march.

Speculation ran rampant as to the size of the crowds gathering.  Early estimates ran as high as 1.5 million or more.  The Daily Mail, [[UPDATE: The Daily Mail article has been edited.  But note the page title next to the favicon.  For awhile at least until they edit again.]]estimated numbers as high as two million. ABC, CNN and other media outlets merely state there were thousands present.  It isn’t important that we settle the debate about the size of the crowd present, although accurate reporting (or any reporting at all) would be nice to see from the state run media.  What is important is that those who were present and those who watched the event from a distance, but whose hearts and minds were in D.C., know the truth.

The protest on Saturday, was not the goal of the Tea Party uprising, it was merely a milestone in a movement, a movement which will continue to grow.  As time goes on, and congress continues to act in it’s own special interests, you will see more and even larger protests.  The increasing intrusiveness and irresponsibility of the federal government is merely serving to add to the numbers of those who are standing up for what is right.

People did not come back from the 9/12 rally in D.C. with the idea they had accomplished their purpose, they came back with a sense of pride in this great nation and a commitment to do even more.  As I spoke with friends, and listened to callers to the local radio talk show on News Radio 1330, WORD hosted by Russ Cassell, I heard an invigorated, energized and unified voice.  A voice which said, we will not let up and we will not back down from taking this fight to congress and to the people at large.

So whether there were “tens of thousands” or a million or more, it does not matter, what matters is that the voice of the people is growing louder and stronger with each passing day.  That voice will not be silenced and soon, it will not be possible to ignore the voice of the people no matter how much the administration and congress want to bury their head in the sand of ignorance .

It was not 1.5 mil. The photos “proving” that number were taken from a 90s rally.

    Jacob,
Thank you for reading and leaving a comment.
As I said in the article, the numbers aren’t that important. Watching live and talking to people who were there, it was certainly obvious the numbers were far greater than the (technically accurate) “thousands” reported by the “state” media.
As the recent NYT/NBC poll shows, the growing sentiment in the nation is one of discontent and anger at the outright duplicity and incompetence of congress and the current administration. In that NYT/NBC poll, 41% of likely voters said they would vote for a candidate who represents the values espoused by the Tea Party movement. That’s pretty momentous.
At any rate, time will tell and we won’t have to wait long to see if I was right or wrong.
    Thanks again Jacob.
